The New Midrod EndsSending us home with the Party FeelingFormed in 1965 the Midrod Ends created a substantial following in the South West becoming runners up in the Western Daily Press poll for ‘Best Band in the West’ in 1968 (we wuz robbed). In early 1970 the band recorded an album under the name Brainchild called "Healing of the Lunatic Owl" following the trend at the time of Brass 'Prog Rock'. The Album made the Luxembourg Charts in March 1970. This album was re released in 2010 and is still available.
In the days of restricted needle time the band played many BBC sessions for the likes of Johnny Walker, Terry Wogan and Annie Nightingale, and acquired a following in the London Club scene at the "Revolution", Scotch St James, Blaise's, Samantha's, and the Bag O' Nails. Touring Spain in 1970 as the backing band to sixties star Billie Davis (Tell Him/Want you to be my Baby/Angel of the Morning) they achieved further success. |
In 1971 the band went their separate ways but in 2009 many of the original members met up to play a reunion gig at their home venue in Glastonbury. It went so well that we reformed and are still going today under the name THE NEW MIDROD ENDS. Since then as with all bands, members have come and gone but one of the original members remains.

Full CirclePete, Phil and Wilf are Full Circle. All retired or semi-retired professionals in their own field but who have always loved to play and listen to music for fun. Having come through the Folk, Rock, Blues progression they find they have a common love of and fascination for “jazz” which is, in itself, a broad canvas.
The original idea back in 2013 was to join with two other players and play for fun once a week, over coffee and biscuits. This developed into playing local charity events as well as weddings, birthdays and other functions on a regular basis across the county. Due to different ambitions and motivations, the band decided they had run their course at the end of 2019 and, rather than recruit new band members, Full Circle was born as a trio. As soon as was sensible and permitted after the height of Covid 19, Full Circle were engaged in performing throughout the summer of ’22 and were well received. Soon the diary began to fill for ’23. The Full Circle repertoire covers a range of foot-tapping standards, ballads, blues, Latin as well as their own interpretations of well-known, and sometimes less well-known, tunes. The idea being to be “in the background” for those who want to listen to, or just hear, gentle music which will put a smile on your face. Sponsored by: Richard Grafton
